Myers, Arthur Lewis, of Ypsilanti, Michigan, passed away unexpectedly on Monday January 6th, 2014 in Holiday, Florida at the age of 57. Born on June 29, 1956 to John F. Jr. & Trudy (Haley) Myers, he attended Belleville High School as well at the University of Delaware.
Art is survived by his daughters, Sara H. Myers and Claire E. Myers of Chelsea, MI; father, John f. Myers Jr(Nell) of Hopkinsville, KY; sisters Sharon(Bill) Lapeer of Holiday, FL; Denise(Al) Phelps of Napoleon, MI; and brother John f. Myers III of Ypsilanti, MI; nieces: Kristy Stalzer of Scottsdale, AZ, Kimberly(Michael) Beetham of Sterling Heights, MI Vanessa (Zach) Kast of Dexter, MI and nephew Justin(Candy) Myers and great-niece: Cara Myers of Holiday, Florida.
Art is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lynne Lepkowski, his mother, Alice Gertrude (Trudy) Myers, and brother, Keith A. Myers.
Art was born in Augsburg, Germany into a military family. His family moved to Ypsilanti, MI in 1968 when his dad retired. Art played football and was an honors graduate from Belleville High School, in Belleville, MI in 1974. Art went on to attend the University of Delaware. He relocated to FL in 2011 and worked in the NEX GEN Energy call center. He would volunteer at the Metropolitan Ministries in Holiday, FL and assist the Salvation Army during the Christmas season. He loved politics and was an avid sports enthusiast.
Art was known for his big heart and even bigger smile. He will be truly missed.
Final interment at the gravesite will be done on May 25, 2014 next to his wife Lynne in Washtenong Memorial Park, 3771 Whitmore Lake Rd, Ann Arbor, MI.
