Asbury “Barry” Howard Small, 51 of Zephyrhills, Florida, entered into eternal rest on December 24, 2018. Barry was born on June 26, 1967 in Nashua, New Hampshire. Barry was “All American” through and through even naming his business “All American.” Barry served honorably in the US Army in support of Operation Dessert Storm, where he was also subject to Active Duty recall. He earned a National Defense medal, Army and Over Sea’s service ribbon, Expert Marksmanship Badge Grenade and Marksman Marksmanship Badge Rifle, M-16. Barry is survived by his cherished and loving children, Catherine and Kyle who thought of him as their number one man and knew deep in their hearts how truly blessed they were to have him in their lives and to call him “Dad.” Barry also leaves behind his four adored grandchildren, Savannah, Sophia, Jessey and Lincoln. A special mention to his friend and mother of his children Samantha Houston Small for her life long friendship and love she bestowed upon him. Samantha supported Barry during the difficult times that he endured and was the face of courage and love that he so needed. Barry is preceded in death by his loving parents, Malcolm and Dorothy Small, his loving sister Mallory Elizabeth “Sam” Small and brother Michael Small. He is also survived by siblings, Kathy Handley (Arthur), George Long, Linda Munn (Steven), Suzanne Small (Al), Kimberly Terrell (George), Craig Small , Victoria Austin (George), and Matthew Small. He is also survived by many special loving cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many devoted caring and loving friends. Our hope is to begin to remember not just that he died, but that he lived and that he gave us memories too beautiful to forget. He was loved very much and will be sorely missed. The best advice he would give us would be to always keep your word, and to not go looking for trouble. Barry was the stuff real men were made of. We are going to miss his straightforwardness and his never ending commitment to his family. Expressions of condolences can be made at Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home, 5228 Trouble Creek Rd, New Port Richey, FL 34652.
A Committal Service will be held at 10AM, Thursday, January 3, 2019 at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
