    David Lane says:
The summer I turned 13 my dad drove mom and us 5 kids up to Tennessee to visit our relatives like we did almost every year. I remember that trip in particular because of something my aunt Juanita did for me. When we got to my grandparents house, Juanita was there, I think she and her kids were staying there at the time. None of us had much in those days and I think she was going thru some lean times herself but she did have one of those old record players that look like a small suitcase and a couple of records that she let me play with. I was just getting into music and she had the first album by Peter, Paul, and Mary. I had never heard any thing like it and I played it over and over. Well, she could see how much I loved it and she gave it to me. As I remember it, she didn't say much, just handed it to me with that big smile on her face and that twinkle in her eyes. It was the first album I ever owned and it was a prized possession. I took that record home and tried to learn every song on it. You never know what little thing is going to point you in a certain direction but I've been playing music all my life and I'm still learning songs off records. It's been said that the best portion of a good person's life is the little nameless, unremembered acts of kindness and of love. This was an act of kindness and love that I will always remember.

I have ALWAYS said...MY best memories in my entire Life, were in Tennessee with Big Mamma and Big Daddy and my cousins and my Aunts, My Aunt Nita Always made me laugh and always made us feel so Welcome. She is with her sisters and Big Mamma and Big Daddy Now. My Mom told me that a lifetime on earth is like a blink of an eye in Heaven, and when I get there...She'll still be unpacking her bags. It really makes me feel better when I'm missing her and having a sad Day. And I hope it can comfort Aunt Nita's Children, as well. I Love You Aunt Nita...Jesus is holding you tight now.

My Aunt Nita was a very sweet, loving person, and she will be greatly missed. My heart breaks for her children, because there is nothing quite like losing a parent. Especially for Deborah and Gerry, because they were so close, and with her every day. It does bring a little smile to my heart to think of Nita now reunited with her sisters in heaven, catching up on all the family news. They are all doing what they did so well while they were here - bustling around, making a place ready for us. I love you aunt Nita. Give my mom a big hug for me.

Peggy and I always enjoyed the years we visited with her sister, Juanita. We really loved Juanita all these years. Before Peggy passed away she ask me to always remember Juanita especially on her birthday and Christmas. We thought an awful lot of our nieces, Gerry and Debbie and always appreciated their thoughtfulness to Peg and I. Now Juanita is with her sisters and I look forward to joining them all one day.

    Gerry Holliman says:
My mom thought of everyone else before herself. She would do anything in her power to bring comfort and joy to anyone, even strangers. She was innocent to the world in many ways but she made the best of what she had and was thankful for it. Her family were her lifeline and she will be greatly missed. She was taken too soon from this world but I am a better person because of her. I regret not telling her how much I loved her every day of her life.

Mom, you will forever remain in our hearts. I will miss you a million times a day. So many activities and thoughts were a part of our things we did together. I will see that little gray head bobbing along at Wal-Mart, I will sigh knowing it is not true, but still it will catch my heart unexpectedly.
