Barbara Anne Horvath (Devlin) of New Port Richey, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2022 at age 82.  Born January 1, 1940, in Hawarden, Flintshire, Wales to Peter John and Martha (Blake) Devlin, Barbara was preceded in death by her three siblings: Maureen Von Schick, Brian Devlin, and Joan Del Guercio. She is survived by her beloved husband, Bob Horvath, whom she met on a blind date. Bob and Barbara were married in 1960 and enjoyed 61 years of devoted love and happiness.

Barbara was the embodiment of unconditional love and built a life based on family, serving as both the foundation of and the glue that held the family together, raising three cherished children: Tony, Barry (Sheri) and Kevin (Kate).  Barbara and Bob were partners, side-by-side in family, faith and business, owning and operating Western Auto in Hudson, FL for 43 years and always attending church together. A steadfast and respected matriarch, she will be missed dearly by all those fortunate enough to cross her path.

Those who met Barbara were struck by her kindness, honesty, generosity, compassion and grace. Strong- willed, spicy and determined, she never wavered from her boundless support and endless devotion to Bob, her boys and her grandchildren, Cody, Cory (Brianna), Kaden, Alex (Alayna), Kyle (Micah), Cameron and Nathan. She put her family and their well-being before anything else. A gifted storyteller, her recollections often reflected the simplicity of what she valued most: love. She approached everything as fiercely and persistently as she loved, whether it was her family, her faith or her work.

Bob reflected on their love story, remembering their first date, wedding day and all of the moments that created their adventure together and commented that there were no peaks and valleys- they were all peaks. Never apart except for brief illnesses, they were each other’s true partner, always starting and ending the day with a kiss. She was happiness personified and she will be sorely missed by her neighbors, her coffee clutch, her friends at St. Thomas Aquinas and all fortunate enough to have spent time with her. We are all blessed to have shared her journey, even if the time was too brief. She leaves behind a legacy that will not be forgotten.

Visitation will be at Michels and Lundquist Funeral home located at 5228 Trouble Creek Rd., New Port Richey, 34652 at 11:00am on Saturday, April 9. A graveside service will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery at 1pm.

Donations can be made at www.marianhelpers.org/give or roses, her favorite flower, can be sent in memoriam.
