Betty Lee Schwarm May 28, 1929- July 13, 2022
The Lord Jesus came to take Betty Lee Schwarm home on July 13, 2022. While we will miss her earthly presence more than words can express, we are rejoicing that she is finally with her Savior. The covenant that she made with the Lord Jesus – that she trusts only in His blood that was shed for her in his death on a cross to cover her sins once and for all, ensures that like her Savior, she is raised from death to life! No more pain. No more struggle.
As her family, we feel obligated to pass on what she would say if she were here. “Honey, have you settled things with the Lord Jesus?” If you said, “Well, Ms. Betty, I was baptized as a baby,” or “I was raised in church,” or “I’ve done more good things than bad,” she would say, “Well, darlin’, I’m afraid that won’t do.” She would say what God’s word says- “If you believe in your heart and confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord- you will be saved.” As her son-in law always says, “When is a gift yours?” and the common reply is “when you give it to me.” The correct answer is similar to, “Darlin’, that won’t do.” A gift is yours when you RECEIVE it. She would say, “Honey, don’t wait one more second- say to the Lord that you receive Him as Savior and that you trust Him only to save you and He will.”
If you have already done this….one of her literal last wishes that she begged everyone to do before she went home was “to remain faithful to the Lord and keep serving Him.”
