Gifts & Memorial Donations

Caroline J. Crabb “Carol”, 80, of New Port Richey, passed away at her home on September 6, 2022. Born in DuBois, PA, she was raised and attended school in Wesleyville. She lived in Harborcreek with her husband “the only man she’d ever love” and four children. In addition to homemaking and child rearing, Carol worked at Behrend College as a cafeteria worker with her long-time friend and neighbor Evelyn Trimble. In September 1985, she moved to New Port Richey. She worked at K-Mart in the deli, then as a Bookkeeper for APT Services and Larsen and Associates. She enjoyed playing cards, board games and bowling, a member of leagues in both PA and FL, with family and friends. Carol’s favorite sport was football…GO STEELERS!!! Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, sewing, ceramics, floral arranging, and gardening. She loved westerns, particularly those containing Clint Eastwood. Most importantly, from teenage babysitter to 70+ year old Great-Grandma, Carol dearly loved taking care of children. She was extremely independent, dignified, and compassionate. Carol is survived by her sisters, Marlene Luthey and Charolette Banka; children, Kenneth, Brian, William, and Wendy Crabb; grandchildren, Mandy, Derek, Drew, Shannon, Brian, and Mason; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Flo Gould; and her husband, Kenneth Crabb. Carol’s viewing will be held at Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home, 5228 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey, FL 34652 on Tuesday September 13th from 4pm to 6pm. Her graveside service and burial will be at Wintergreen Gorge Cemetery, 2601 Norcross Road, Erie, PA 16510 on Friday September 16th at 10am. Carol and Wendy would like to express their immeasurable gratitude to Ruth, Bill, Jenny, Jayden, Gulfside Hospice, and Touchpoint Medical for their assistance allowing her to remain at home in her final days. In lieu of flowers, please consider a contribution to Gulfside Healthcare Services, www.gulfside.org/make-a-gift.html, in honor of Carol.

    Derek Crabb says:
Every great childhood memory of mine consists of Grandma Carol. My brother and I used to rush through Christmas mornings because we knew as soon as we were done, it was off to Grandma's, and that's where we got the "good stuff". Grandma Carol was the epitome of taking care of people. Her heart was always full of love and laughter. Raising children solo takes tons of grit and independence and she did a incredible job with my Aunt and a mediocre job with her 3 son's lol. The past 5 years or so, I let my life get in the way of visiting and sort of lost that close relationship we had. In fact, I was in NPR two days before she passed and I thought about stopping in but didn't. I knew of her illness and simply didn't make the time and I'll regret that for the rest of my life. Idk, maybe in my head I just never thought my Grandma passing was possible. Anyone reading this...MAKE time to spend with your loved ones. You may think there will always be time...until there isnt. To my Grandma, I apologize. Even though I wasn't present for a while, I always loved you and you will always have a place in my heart. One thing about you that I was always amazed by was the fact that your late husband was the only man you ever loved and I know that you will so happy to reunite! We all love you Grandma! You are a ROCK of a woman!
