Chester Louis Seward Sr.

Chester Louis Seward, Sr. age 87, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday January 27, 2019 from his residence in Lakeland, Florida after a long battle with Alzheimer’s.He was born in Lawton, Oklahoma on May 17, 1931 to Charles Walter and Dessie Mae (Ogletree) Seward. He married Barbara Ann Hand (who preceded him in death on August 31, 2018) on June 15, 1956. He spent 20 years serving our country in the Air Force. Serving in both in Korea and Vietnam. He retired from the Air Force as an E6 TSgt in 1972. He then went on to serve another 20 years as a United States Postal Worker.He was a loving and devoted husband of 62 years, as well as a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his five children, Walter Seward, Chester (Lillian) Seward, Jr., Jimbo (Megan) Seward, David Seward and Dessie (Brian) Holliday. He is also survived by his 12 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A private viewing and service was held on Friday February 1, 2019 with interment at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. Special thanks to Cornerstone Hospice and all their wonderful, caring people who helped our family and Daddy through his final days on this Earth. We are beyond grateful. He was a great man with a heart of gold and he will be sorely missed. He left a legacy of love, family first, kindness, giving, devotion, faithfulness and Jesus. Because of this he left his family and this world much richer and blessed because of his presence. We thank God for the gift of Daddy.
