Cynthia “Cindy” Wintersgill, age 84, of New Port Richey, passed away on September 6, 2023 in the care of Gulfside Hospice. Cindy was born on December 15, 1938 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to the late Harry Garstka and Theresa Platkus. She graduated from Carrick High School in Pittsburgh and worked for Bank of America for many years until her retirement. Cindy lived in the Pittsburgh area until 1978 when she moved to New Port Richey, Florida, where she stayed for the duration of her life.
She was a devoted member of her church and in her spare time, she loved to cook. Cindy always wanted to feed everyone, hosting feasts for holidays and famously saying “bring eaters.” Her hobbies also included sewing and crocheting and she had a deep love for dogs. More than anything though, Cindy adored caring for her grandchildren and being with family. She will be fondly remembered for her kind, loving soul and for her constant generosity with her time and efforts, always caring for everyone else before herself.
Cindy will be dearly missed by her sons, Robert (Kathleen) and Keith (Peggy); her grandchildren, Sean & Colleen; sister-in-law, Sue Garstka; brother-in-law, Blair Fabac (Nancy); as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert. A Celebration of Life will be held with details to be announced.
