Darlene J. Young

Darlene passed on to eternal rest on November 6, 2022, peacefully and surrounded by her loving family.

Darlene was born in Tarpon Springs and carried with her a love for fishing passed on to her by her father. Fishing was a favorite activity for her and her children and grandchildren. You could usually find Darlene in orange and blue (Go Gators!) and near some body of water in her beloved home state.

Darlene was a lifelong career woman who managed and directed many businesses, as well as clubs and organizations.

Darlene is well known amongst her family as being the best cook and baker, and her Christmas desserts and goodies will long be missed by her family.

Darlene is survived by her brothers Jerry Boatright and Don Boatright (and wife Ruth), and sister Dolly Barthle(and husband Bernard). She is also survived by her children Kenneth Sparkman, Cathy Fladung (and husband Hubertus Fladung), Casey Young (and wife Danielle), and Stacey Young; along with grandchildren Cherie Kennedy and Josh Kennedy (wife Sabrina), Thomas Filis and Filicia Lacerra (husband Nick), Zach Bidlack and Cody Young. Darlene also has many great-grandchildren who she dearly loved and like to show off to her friends and neighbors.
