David Monte Johns III, loving father, brother, son, and friend, passed away on June 6, 2023, at 49. David had a passion for fishing, motorcycles, and spending quality time with his family. He cherished being a father to his children, Devin, Alyssa, Tyler, Koalah, and Orand.

David will be remembered for his warm heart, infectious laughter, and sense of humor. He had a knack for bringing people together and embraced life’s moments, whether on a fishing trip, riding his motorcycle, or enjoying time with loved ones.

He is survived by his father, David Monte Johns Jr.; mother, Esther Gatlin; sister, Patricia Taylor; children, Devin, Alyssa, Tyler, and Koalah; two grandchildren; nephews; and a wide circle of family and friends.

David’s spirit will forever inspire us. He will be deeply missed but remembered for his love, generosity, and the lasting impact he had on our lives.

The family is planning a commemoration of David’s life on a date yet to be decided. Instead of sending flowers, they request that you cherish the time you spend with your loved ones, as tomorrow is never guaranteed.

In loving memory of Dave, a beloved father, grandfather, and friend. Dave was taken from this world far too soon. . He was only 49 years old, but in his short time here, he touched the lives of many. Dave loved the simple things in life. He loved fishing, spending hours on the water with his friends and family. (& an iced cold beer 😊) He loved riding his motorcycle & he'd get the biggest smile on his face whenever he had the chance to take a dirt bike into the woods (which always led to stories of growing up & riding around with his lifelong friend, Jackie. He had a contagious smile and the ability to make everyone feel welcome around him. Although Dave is no longer with us, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.. The world will be a little darker without his infectious laugh, his kind spirit, and his unwavering love. Rest in peace, Dave.
