Dennis R. Chambers, son of Elmo and Ella Chambers, passed May 13, 2022, at the age of 71.
Dennis was raised in Hobbs, New Mexico, Shawnee, Bartlesville, and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
Dennis proudly served in the United States Army from 1969 until 1982 in various capacities including the Army Nuclear Power Program and support for development of depleted uranium penetrators and armor, and response for the Three Mile Island Nuclear Power Plant accident.
From 1982-2015, Dennis served in a variety of Health Physics related positions including remediation of radiologically contaminated sites.
Dennis and Lindy (Haas-Schauff) Chambers, married in October 2007 and resided in St. Peters, Missouri until 2015, when they moved to Odessa, Florida.
Dennis was an active volunteer at the Missouri Botanical Gardens in St. Louis, Missouri and an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. He rarely missed a game. He loved travelling, especially cruising. He was an outgoing, personable, and intelligent man as well as a very loving, supportive, and caring husband, son, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He treasured all his grandchildren and loved making memories with them.
He is survived by his wife, Lindy, his mother Ella (Betty), 7 children/stepchildren Joseph (Melanie)Chambers, Katherine Chambers, Jill (David) Wallace, Sara(Fred) Hall, Jerome (Rebecca) Venteicher, Megan Schauff, Jacob (Alexandra) Schauff, and 11 grandchildren/step grandchildren, and his siblings Patricia Holwell, Rowena Welch and Timothy (Nita) Chambers.
He was preceded in death by his father, Elmo, his sister Georgia Lane, and his brother Greg Chambers
