Gifts & Memorial Donations

Donald Lee Baker, age 57, of New Port Richey, FL, passed away January 5, 2018, after a long, courageous battle with cancer.  Don was born to Donald and Gladys Baker on January 6, 1960 in Unadilla, NY.  After high school, he joined the Coast Guard which eventually led him to Florida a little over 35 years ago.  He spent his years as a laborer working in many different types of construction and restoration fields.  He has attended the Calvary Chapel Worship Center for 15 years.

Don was very outgoing.  He loved spending time with his friends and nurtured many long-lasting friendships back in New York with phone calls.  He had a passion for baseball.  He played when he was in school, and then became a coach when his grandsons started to play.  He was a season ticket holder of the Tampa Bay Rays and took his grandsons to every Sunday home game.

Don is survived by his wife of nearly 32 years, Becky Baker; his daughter, Rachel Garrison; his grandchildren: Christian Blackburn, Noah Baker, and Maria Cabrera; and many dear family members and friends.

Visiting hours for Don will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 from 10am to 12pm at Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home.  A funeral service will commence at 12pm with burial at East Elfers cemetery to follow.
