Donald Tyrone Truesdale, affectionately known as Tyrone, was the oldest of four children born September 20th, 1959 in Philadelphia, PA to Donald Duncan and Laura Elizabeth Truesdale. Those preceded in death Donald Duncan (father) and Gail Truesdale (sister). Tyrone was baptized at a very young age and was a happy child who enjoyed sports, music, and a good cookout, but most of all loved his family for whom he made great sacrifices for. Tyrone received his education in the Philadelphia School System and graduated from Germantown High School in 1977, where he played tight end for the high school football team. He also met the love of his life Dee Dee in high school and from this union three lovely children were born. Tyrone would look forward to watching and playing sports with his friends in the neighborhood of Germantown. Tyrone’s teenage years furthered him into his liking for music and photography. He would buy LP’s and blast his music while he sings, rap, dance, and eat to have a goodtime before his parents came home from work. Some of his favorite groups were Brass Construction, Ohio Players, and Sugar Hill Gang which he still listened to as he got older. In March of 1983, Tyrone decided to follow in his fathers footsteps to join the United States Army. His duty was in communications, and he served many tours overseas to include Desert Storm from 1990 to 1991 where he received several medals of honor. He retired as a sergeant from the Army in 1997.
During his retirement he continued to enjoy cookouts, listening to music, watching all the Philly sports teams, fishing, and trips-all with his family. He loved spending time with his family and making us laugh. He was so funny! Tyrone leaves a legacy of love to his three children Tashina Nicole (Jerome), Donald Tyrone Jr., and Justin William; one grandson Kevin Lamont; two great grandchildren Kayden and Kameron; Mother Laura Elizabeth; two sisters Cynthia Lynette (Quincy) and Rhonda. He his also survived by one uncle, and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews,
cousins, and friends.
