Drew Lundquist

May 15, 1969 - November 27, 2020
Drew Lundquist

Andrew John Lundquist, II, age 51, of New Port Richey, passed away very unexpectedly on Friday, November 27, 2020. He was a wonderful, loving, kind, and giving son, brother, uncle, and friend to so many. Born in Largo on May 15, 1969, he was raised and lived in New Port Richey for most of his life, aside from the years spent in Virginia Beach. It was evident from an early age that he was quite talented. He loved music and had a wonderful voice. He acted in several productions with Richey Suncoast Theatre and the Tarpon Springs Performing Arts Center throughout the years. He brought joy and humor to his roles. He was an avid movie attendee and loved comic heroes, especially Wonder Woman. Drew was an avid fitness enthusiast and participated in many 5ks and half marathons to raise money for his community. He was very humble and private, but was always thinking of others. He was the crematory manager for Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home and took great pride and care in his work, something passed down to him from his father, Andy, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his mother, Bette Lundquist; sister, Chrissy Lent (Scott); his niece, Heather Gmitter, and his great nephew, Hunter Degraff, whom he affectionately dubbed as “Monkey”; as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins. He loved his family so much and was our rock. There are so many beautiful memories we will always carry with us. He is deeply loved and missed. Visitation hours will be held on Friday, December 4th from 1pm to 3pm and 5pm to 7pm, with service at 7pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to The Memphis Oral School for the Deaf, Wounded Warrior, one of the theaters listed above, or a charity of your choice in Drew’s name.

Drew was a thoughtful, generous, caring man to everyone he met. He always put someone else’s needs first. He loved acting and putting a smile on the theatre patron’s faces. He was a good friend to my husband Charlie, and I and to Richey Suncoast Theatre. He was taken too soon and will be greatly missed!

There are no words to describe the loss of one of our own. He was truly one of kind. We shared memories of our Midwest roots, and our love for bizarre socks. As a colleague he was kind, dependable, and always kept us well fed with snacks and pizza. He will be deeply missed for many years to come, this was his home and he took great care of it.

I met Drew at the gym, and always thought he had the warmest persona. When we did a half marathon together about 2 years ago, was when I really got to know what an amazing person he was. We talked about any & everything, and he was the kindest, most thoughtful gentleman I knew. I will always remember his kindness & sweet spirit. This is a difficult loss & Drew will be missed by many. He will also be remembered for his impact on many. Thoughts & prayers for family & friends.

Too many laughs to count, a few tears (all mine), adventures, holidays, dinners, running races, singing songs, taking pictures....lots and lots of pictures, funny faces and hugs and kisses. I don't remember how or where we met, I'm just so glad we did. You've made my world a better place and for that I am so blessed and thankful. I will always have a spot in the front row saved for you. My love always, Jodi
