Betty, 100, passed away surrounded by her daughter and grandchildren in Land O’ Lakes, Florida on June 7. Betty was born April 19, 1921 in Detroit, Michigan as the second of seven children of John and Elizabeth Stipsak.
Betty had a career as a financial analyst in the aerospace industry at Martin Company (now Lockheed Martin); she took great pride in having been part of the space exploration initiative. Along with her husband Ray, she retired in 1983 to New Port Richey, FL where she became active in the Greenbrook Estates homeowner’s association, Ashbury Methodist Church, and a charitable organization that supports Shriners Hospital for Children. She and Ray’s passion for exploration took them to Alaska, Italy, and Hawaii.
Betty will be greatly missed by her daughter Beverly Moses, grandchildren Kristi, Michael, and Jamie, and great-grandchildren Evan and Theo.
The family will host visitation on Friday, June 18 from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at Michels & Lundquist. Services will be held Saturday, June 19 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church in Land O’ Lakes with a reception to follow at the Lake Padgett East Clubhouse.
