Bennett, Emily May, 89, of Port Richey, passed away peacefully on June 2, 2017 at the Gulfside Hospice Care Center of Heather Hill. Emily was born on December 18, 1927 in Baltimore, Maryland. She was the daughter of the late, Carl and Ethel (Flynn) Jones. Emily was a homemaker for her family and always took care of her husband and sons. She relocated to Florida in 1996, coming from Maryland.
Emily was a member of the Eastern Star and a member of the Ladies Auxillary of VFW 8097. In her spare time she enjoyed playing the organ and piano, sewing, and painting. Her great cooking skills will be missed by family and friends. She also enjoyed playing slot machines and playing Bingo. Emily was raised and lived strong in her Christian faith. She loved animals and had multiple dogs and cats over the years. She will be especially remembered for her great sense of humor and could easily make anyone laugh and smile.
Emily was predeceased to her loving husband in 1970, Matthew Bennett. She is survived by her sons, Gary (Donna) Bennett, Donny (Sherry) Bennett, and Doug Bennett; sister, Dolores Banks; grandson, Mathew Bennett; and a large loving extended family.
