Sica, Frank M, 90, of Holiday, passed away peacefully at the Gulfside Hospice Center of Heather Hill on May 14, 2017. Frank was born on December 6, 1926 in Brooklyn, New York. He was the son of the late, Emil and Rose (Palmieri) Sica. Frank courageously served in the United States Navy during World War II. He later went on to work and retire as a Police Officer for the New York City Police Department. Frank was a parishonier at St. Vincent De Paul Roman Catholic Church with his wife. He enjoyed bowling with his friends, making model airplanes, and playing cards and games with his wife. Frank is described as being the perfect husband who always placed his wife first. He loved animals very much and was an extremely charitable man, always giving back to different foundations whenever possible. Frank is survived by his loving and supportive wife, Elizabeth Sica; and numerous niece and nephews.
A visitation is to be held at the Michels & Lundquist funeral home on Wednesday, May 17, 2017 from 1-3 pm and 5-7 pm. A funeral mass will be held at the St. Vincent De Paul Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 10 am. A ceremony of military honors will also be held on Thursday, May 8, 2017 at 1:30 pm at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida, where Frank will be laid to rest with his fellow comrades.
