Frank William Versaw, president of the consulting firm VSM Inc. and proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, passed away Tuesday, July 25, 2023. Frank was born February 28, 1956, in Franklin, Nebraska to Keith Eugene and Marjorie “Mickie” Janet (Miller) Versaw. Frank graduated from high school in Aurora, Nebraska then entered the U.S. Navy where he advanced rapidly to the rank of Petty Officer Second Class while serving on two of the last diesel submarines in the US fleet. He then earned a BS degree in communications from University of Colorado and a MS degree in management from Colorado Technical University while working at SpaceCom and building his own company. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, and his sister, Nancy Paige Versaw.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy Versaw; his children, Andrew (Liz) Versaw; Joshua (Christina) Peach; Kindra (“B”) Sutton; his sisters, Susan (Doug) Pearson, Rose (Ken) Johnson; his brother, Wayne (Lori) Versaw; his grandchildren, Maleah (Elijah) Anding; Mariah Sutton; Chase Peach; Anabelle Peach; William Versaw; Asher Versaw; his great- grandchildren, Malijah Anding; Elicia-Sue Anding; and so many cherished nieces, nephews, friends, and colleagues.
Frank was a curious amalgam of extremes: so very grumpy yet tempered with a smile; compelled by work that most did not understand so assumed it was a front for the FBI yet loved to travel and spend time with friends and family; a voracious reader and careful thinker yet frequently spouted nonsense with great authority; teased mercilessly yet was a fierce protector; drank cheap beer yet liked fine wine and cognac; habitual provocateur yet also the first to respond in a crisis. We wish him eternal joy and that he does not flinch when mom approaches with a pitcher of tea…
