Gary Leonard Johnson

JOHNSON, Gary Leonard 58, of New Port Richey, FL passed away suddenly May 28, 2017 in his home. Gary was born in Lawrence, MA and at age eight moved to Florida where he lived out the rest of his years. He graduated from Miami Palmetto Senior High School in 1976. In his younger years, Gary excelled at moto-cross racing, winning numerous awards. Gary worked at various delivery jobs until going out on disability. He spent many summers visiting his family’s cabin in Maine where he enjoyed boating with his Mom and teaching his nieces and nephews to wind surf. In his later years Gary faithfully attended his church where he was warmly welcomed and cared for by Pastor Jack and the whole congregation. Gary is survived by his mother, Eleanor Joy Johnson of Londonderry, NH; his sister, Su (Johnson) Geiger; brother-in-law, Phil of Londonderry, and their children. Gary is preceded in death by his father, Roland E. Johnson. Gary will be remembered June 4 at 10:30 at Under His Wings Fellowship, New Port Richey, FL.
