Guadalupe Lebron

February 26, 1927 - September 4, 2022
Guadalupe Lebron

Guadalupe Lebron entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 4, 2022, in Holiday, FL.
Guadalupe was born on February 26, 1927, in Salinas PR. Her parents were Domingo Cintron and
Candelaria Delfi. Guadalupe loved Latin music and dancing salsa. Her love for dancing started as
a young girl in the Plaza in Salinas, Puerto Rico where she would enter dance contests and win.
Dancing at the Plaza is where she met Herman Lebron. Guadalupe came to New York in her early
twenties and resided in Manhattan. “Lupe” as she is affectionately called was known to frequent
various night clubs such as the Bronx Casino, Manhattan Center, Latin Quarters, the Palladium,
the Flamingo, and the Corso Night Club in NYC. She would love to go see her favorite artist such
as Tito Rodriguez, Eddie Palmieri, La Lupe, Celia Cruz, Trios Los Condes and many more.
Guadalupe raised three children in Manhattan, NY, Herman Lebron, Sonia (Lebron) Santiago and
Soriada Lebron. She worked as a seamstress in a factory in Lower Manhattan sowing shoes,
pocketbooks, bathing suits and more. She also did factory piece work at home to provide for her
family. Years later, she moved with her three children to the Bronx where she went on to live for
many years. She went on to give birth to her son Johnny Monell, and later met Joe Rodriguez,
and they had a son Jose Rodriguez. Guadalupe loved her children and did all she could to provide
for them. She did volunteer work at “Good Will” for many years. She like to play Bingo, cook for
her family, and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Spending time with her family was
the highlight of her life. She watched and cared for many of her grandchildren often taking them
to the park to play and taking them out to eat a cheeseburger, french fries and a strawberry shake
at the lunch counter in Woolworth’s on Fordham Road in the Bronx.
Lupe was witty, friendly, sociable, and loving to everyone she met but she was also strong willed.
Once she made a decision that was it. She had a big heart and would share all that she had, even
with strangers and would give you the shirt off her back if needed. She was deeply loved by many
over the years and had the ability to bring joy to everyone by making them laugh. She took great
care about her appearance and never left the house without her brow liner and lipstick. In 2010,
she relocated to Holiday, Florida with her oldest daughter Sonia. She loved to go to Church with
Sonia to worship the Lord or as she affectionately calls Him “Papa Dios”. Her daughter Sonia
devoted herself to lovingly caring for her until her final moments when she went home to be with
Papa Dios (The Lord).
Lupe leaves behind many loving memories to be cherished by her daughter Sonia Santiago and
her husband Jorge; son Johnny Monell and his wife Rita; son Jose Rodriguez and his wife Rosa;
her Goddaughter Jennifer Gregory; her grandchildren, Herman, Annette, Naomi, Eric, Steven,
Melanie, Johnny, Justin, Sorlene, Esmeralda, Valachi, Laci, Devin, great-grandchildren, Karina,
Joshua, Janelle, Brandon, Jordan, Samantha, Savannah, Ivelisse, Yassin, Firas, Mitchell, Mateo
and her great-great grandchildren, David and Norah.
The family wishes to extend their love and gratitude to all who loved, cared for, and shared life
with Guadalupe aka Lupe. We are eternally grateful for each one of you. May her love, joy, and
light shine brightly in your hearts and memories as she does in ours.

A Celebration of Life Service is scheduled for 1:30pm on Saturday, September 17th, 2022, at Church At The Bridge 90 Broadway Newburgh, NY 12550. Flowers and cards may be sent to the church directly.

For My Dear Juventud, I will miss our conversations and your crazy funny stories. How much we would laugh when we would talk. I will miss having conversations about the Spanish soap operas you would get me addicted to. You were funny, tough and were one of the strongest women I knew besides my mother, your daughter. I remember waking up to my favorite breakfast at 6am but that breakfast meant it was clean the house day. We would have to clean behind the stove, and inside the cabinets even though we had just did it last weekend. Lol. I learned a lot from you and will miss you my Juventud.

Wela, I love you so much! You were always a blessing to Jose, Joshua, Karina, my grand-children David & Norah and me. Your legacy lives on in us. You taught me so many great things, especially the love of a Grandmother. Wow! I cherish everything I learned from you, and hope that I can love and care for my grandchildren half as much as you did us. Your love was unconditional toward us, the love of the Father was in you. Mi Vieja, dale un beso grande a Papa Dios para me y un abrazo bien fuerte a Raulito. Until we see each other again Wela... Besos y Abrazos Te Quiero Mucho (tu favorita) Annette <3
