Jack Nooner Campbell, 96, passed away on May, 8, 2014 in Bayonet Point, Florida. He was born in St. Lawrence, South Dakota on October 9, 1917 and was a long time resident of New Port Richey. Jack graduated from Prairie du Chien High School in 1935 and worked in the Civilian Conservation Corps before enlisting in The United States Marine Corps. He served during World War II fighting in major battles on Guadalcanal, Iwo Jima, and Saipan and went on to serve in the Korean War. After retiring from the Marine Corps Jack worked as the General Manager for a private school bus company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1980 he retired to Florida. He was a member of the China Marine Association, the Coast Guard Auxiliary, the Military Officer Association of America, and the Gulf Harbor Yacht Club and was an active parishioner at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church. Jack is predeceased by his beloved wife, Janet (of 51 years) and son, Jeff (wife Susan). He is survived by his brother, Bruce Campbell (wife Mardine) of Richland, Washington, and two sons, Jim (wife Paula) of Hudson, Florida and John (wife Beth) of Tarpon Springs, Florida. He has eleven grandchildren: Kathryn, Zachary, Abigail, Elizabeth, Mitchell, Bethany, Kevin, Kyle, Keri, Jonathan, and Peter and seven great grandchildren: Paige, Quinn, Hailey, Olivia, Jackson, Lucille and Cassius. Jack was very generous, possessed a great sense of humor and was so determined in all that he did. He loved life in all of its facets and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.Services will be held on Wednesday, 10:00am, May 14, 2014 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in New Port Richey. Visitation will be from 5:00pm until 8:00pm on Tuesday, Burial will be at 11:00 Thursday in Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Florida, Where he will receive Military Graveside Honors.
