James Bowman

Bowman, James “Jim” Edison; 67, passed away on April 6, 2017 in Land O’ Lakes, Florida.  Jim was born in Dayton, Ohio to Edison & Doris Bowman and worked as a Plans Examiner Supervisor dedicated to his job for over 20 years.  He was a Vietnam Veteran who honorably served our country in the U.S. Navy.  Jim enjoyed building things and just tinkering around the house, boating, fishing, and mostly spending time with his family! He was especially fond of his grandchildren and loved them dearly. He is survived by his children Jennifer Kriel(Shon) & Christopher Bowman; father Edison Bowman; brother Michael Bowman; and 2 grandchildren Nicholas & Alyssa Kriel.  He was predeceased by his sister Sue Ann Casson.  A gathering of family and friends will take place from 3:00~5:00 on Sunday, April 9, 2016 at Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home. Jim will be laid to rest at Florida National Cemetery with military honors at a later date.

    Jimmy is considered family to us. When I came back home to NPR in 96 I rented a little house in town. Jimmy knew the roof had a small leak - in the middle of a terrible storm he drove up, got on the roof with a tarp and covered the hole. Jimmy was always someone you could count on through thick and thin. I will sure miss his smile and the way he always made you feel like family. For the last several years we would meet at Orange Lake, Easter mornin Sunrise service. This year he will be with the Lord, what a celebration. Peace be with Eddie, Mike, children and grandchildren.
