Jean H. Carpenter

Jean H. Carpenter, 86, of Hudson, passed away October 15, 2017.  Born February 3, 1931 in Waynesboro, TN to Cartha E. Harper and Eara Morris, Jean moved to Elfers as a small child and attended the historic Elfers School.  She was Baptist by faith, and the strong mother of 6 sons.  She spent most of her life as a homemaker, but later in life became a data entry clerk for a hospital.  She had the sweetest smile and will be missed by all who knew her.

Jean was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 47 years, Henry Carpenter; a son, Gary Carpenter; and a grandson, Phillip Carpenter.  She is survived by her sons: Keith Gerlach, James Carpenter (Carolynn), Michael Carpenter (Darlene), Brian Carpenter (Veronica), and Dennis Carpenter; her grandchildren: James Jr, Kevin, Karrie, Brian Jr, Paul, Teresa, Derrick, and Drew; her great grands: Lacy, Brendon, Hayley, and Jake; and her brothers: Glenn and Ronald Harper.

Visitation for Jean will be held at Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home on Monday, October 23, 2017 from 9am to 10am with funeral service to follow.  Burial will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 12:30pm the same day.
