Jerry Simunovich

Jerry Simunovich, New Port Richey, formerly of Towensend, DE, passed away at age 79 on Friday, August 11, 2017 after a courageous battle with ALS. Jerry was born on March 4, 1938 in Croatia (formerly Yugoslavia) and immigration to the United States in 1945 after escaping Nazi occupation.

Jerry served in the U.S. Army from 1958-1960, and after being honorably discharged, was a member of Local #32 Insulator’s Union, prior to starting his own construction business.

Jerry was predeceased by his parents Nicholas and Rose and daughter-in-law Lorraine. He is survived by his fiancé Mureen McMasters; son, Gerald, gran-daughters; Kelli Pearson (Ryan), Kimberly and Kristen, and great-grandson Oilver; brother, Matthew (Ann) and Sister Maria Wolf.

A memorial mass will be conducted on August 31, 2017 at 10:30am at Our Lady Queen OF Peace, 5340 High Street, New Port Richey, Arrangements are being handled by Michels-Lundquist Funeral Home. Military Honors will be performed at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association.
