John T. McGinty, Jr

John T. McGinty, Jr, passed away on August 27, 2022. He leaves his beloved wife, Maria, of 67 years, five children, eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. John was a combat veteran of the Korean War having served in the United States Army with the 1st Cavalry Division. A funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church on September 6, 2022 at 10am with inurnment to follow at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to HPH Hospice who provided kind and compassionate care to John and his family.

    John was a veteran of the Korean War. I remember some years back a group of us were having lunch in Florida near John and Maria’s home. Two men approached our table and asked if the car out front belonged to any of us. It was John’s car and he said, “that’s mine.” Well, apparently he had a special sticker of an emblem from his Korean unit on the rear window and before you knew it, both men were saluting John and then shaking his hand! It was all pretty amazing! There were so many other amazing angles to John beyond war hero; beloved husband, father and grandfather, talented chef, a great story teller with a wicked sense of humor and the maker of Florida’s finest margarita. To say John will be missed is a major understatement. I feel so blessed to have known him and spent some really great times together. Rest In Peace Dad. You earned it!
