Jovita DeJesus, of 99 years of age, passed away on April 26, 2017. She is the daughter of the late Isidoro Vazquez and Victoria Ramos. Jovita was born on February 15, 1918 in Fajardo, Puerto Rico. A pioneer in her own right, she moved to New York City in her late 20s; where she would eventually start her own family. She was always known by her family members for her jovial personality and love of music. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rafael DeJesus; sons, Hector Hernandez and his wife, Giselle, Alcides Hernandez; daughters, Victoria Hernandez, Evelyn Garcia and her husband, Luis; brothers, Luis and Victor Vazquez; 4 grandchildren, Regina Hernandez, Nadeen Hernandez, Ysabella Hernandez, and Gabriel Isidoro Pitts; and 4 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 12 pm to 3 pm at Michels-Lundquist Funeral Home, 5228 Trouble Creek Rd. New Port Richey, FL.
