Dear Alves family, Mr. Alves was my chemistry teacher my junior year at Durfee HS. He was a good teacher who commanded respect from his students. He then became a colleague when I taught at Durfee. As a VP at Durfee he was someone I could rely on to help with classroom discipline. When Len spoke, people listened.
