Margie E. Smith, 74, of Holiday, Florida passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2022 peacefully surrounded by her family. She was a devoted and loving wife to her soul mate and husband Larry Smith and a loving mother to her daughter Peggy-Sue Dodge (Mac). She loved and was dedicated to her family… sister Peggy Klein (Bill), three brothers, Roger Hooey (Karen), Carl Hooey (Rose), Brian Hooey (Sue), step-father Carroll Hooey, three grandchildren, Trevor Current (Lexi), Eli Current and Zoie Current, great grandson Harrison Current and multiple nieces and nephews.
Margie was known to family & friends as Marge or Margie but she would say the most important people in her life called her Nana. She loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother. Margie had a passion for cooking and baking. Her kitchen was always open and she would tell you it is where great memories are made and grandchildren spoiled. She was right!
Margie was often volunteer of the month with Volunteer Way. If she wasn’t behind a computer there were times when you could find her cooking or serving those less fortunate.
Margie is survived by her loving husband Larry Smith, daughter Peggy-Sue Dodge, sister, three brothers, step-father, 3 grandchildren, great-grandson, nieces, nephews, and many friends. In addition, she was preceded in death by her first husband Daniel A. Current and son Mark D. Current.
