TROY, MARIAN DOROTHY (Atkins)

96 of Holiday, FL died of natural causes
on January 13, 2016 at home with her daughters by
her side. Born in Springfield, MA to George
& Mae Atkins, Marian was the longest living
member of her birth family. Predeceased by her
husband of 69 years, Gordon D. Troy, daughter
Wendy M. Troy and four brothers, Donald,
Richard, James and George II, she is survived
by daughters Terry and Robin, son James and
granddaughters Amanda Browne and Lisa Mamone.
Marian & Gordon lived in Westport CT, Vestal NY,
and Midland Park NJ, before retiring to Holiday
where she was a member of the Forest Hills East
Civic Assn. She enjoyed pot luck dinners, bowling,
crafts, knitting and was an avid card player.
Marian deeply valued her relationships with family
and friends and was faithful in acknowledging each
milestone in their lives with cards and letters.
She was an especially gracious and hospitable
hostess, welcoming people into her home & heart.
Marian was a truly devoted, giving & caring daughter,
sister, aunt, wife, mother, grandmother and friend.
Interment Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
