Gaitis, Mary F, 98, of Palm Harbor, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2017. Mary was born on August 8, 1918 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the daughter of the late, Patrick and Ann Cunningham. Mary worked as an executive secretary for the Prospect Heights Park District in Prospect Heights, Illinois. She relocated to Florida in 1983, coming from Prospect Heights, Illinois.

Mary will be remembered as a very devoted and loving wife and mother. In her spare time, Mary enjoyed reading, doing crossword puzzles, and playing card games. She was strong in her faith and a member of St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church in Palm Harbor, Florida.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, James Gaitis; son, James (Dawn) Gaitis; daughters, Patricia (Frank) Martello and Diane (Steven) Forton; grandchildren, Nicole and Scott; and great-grandchildren, Natalie, Danielle and Alexander.

A visitation is to be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 from 9-10:30 am at Michels & Lundquist funeral home, located at 5228 Trouble Creek Road, New Port Richey, FL 34652. A funeral mass it to follow at 11:30 am at St. Luke the Evangelist Catholic Church, located at 2757 Alderman Rd, Palm Harbor, FL 34684. Mary will be interred at a future date in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
