Gifts & Memorial Donations

Michael “Mickey” James Gallant Sr. 72, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2022 at Gulfside Heather Hill Hospice Care Center. Born to Pete and Marie Gallant on April 18, 1950 in Methuen, MA. Mickey resided in Plaistow, NH for 34 years before moving to New Port Richey, FL to retire in 2006.

He received his Highschool diploma from Methuen High then enlisted in the Army where he became a Vietnam Veteran. Early in his career Mickey was a skilled mechanic then moved into outside sales of automotive parts.

Mickey loved boating, classic rock, and classic cars. He also had a love for comfort and enjoyed being in his sweats. But most of all, he enjoyed being “Papa” to his granddaughter.

He was a very independent man who loved tinkering and figuring out things on his own and certainly doing it his way. He spent his days puttering around the house readily available to anyone who needed his help. Sharing his expertise in mechanics and handywork, he always extended a helping hand to people in the community who needed house or car repairs, he was the man everyone could rely on.

He is survived by his wife Priscilla Gallant, son Michael Gallant Jr. (Kaitlyn), granddaughter Amelia Gallant, brothers Mark and Kevin, sister Sharon Welch, stepsisters Anne Marie Jardine, June Dinsmore, and Cindy Buffmun.

He is preceded in death by his parents Pete Gallant and Marie Maneely.

I will never forget the fun and warmth, I felt when I visited Mickey & Priscilla with my sister Dorothy, a good friend of theirs. Mickey took us out on his pontoon boat. It was so beautiful. I have gorgeous photos. He was welcoming and shared his love of life, family and boating. May he rest in peace.
