Palmira “Polly” (Lavin) Wheaton

Palmira “Polly” Wheaton, 75, of New Port Richey, FL, passed away Tuesday October 9, 2018 at the Trinity Medical Center in Trinity, Florida; surrounded by her family. She was born June 23, 1943, Daughter of Gonzalo and Valentina Lavin. She graduated from Spaulding High School in 1961 and graduated from Lasell Junior College in Newton, MA in 1963. On September 4, 1965 She married Robert Fontana in Barre, VT. They later divorced. On September 12, 1986 She Married Richard J. Wheaton in Waterbury, VT. They resided in Florida for 32 years, recently spending summers in her native Vermont. She enjoyed traveling the world, cooking, crafting and decorating, and visiting with family and friends. Besides her loving husband and best friend of 32 years, she is survived by her daughter, Vicki Fontana Corson of Northfield, VT and her three grandchildren, Morgan Lamorey of Quincy, MA, Kyle Lamorey and his wife Hillary of Northfield , VT, and Matthew Corson of Northfield, VT. She was predeceased by her parents, Gonzalo and Valentina Lavin and her infant brother Gonzalo Lavin, Jr. She was also predeceased by her beloved dog and best buddy, Scooter. At her request there will be no calling hours. A graveside service will be planned at a later time, at the convenience of her family. Memorial contributions in her memory can be made to a charity she was forever passionate about, The Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
