Gifts & Memorial Donations

Margaret “Peggy” Russell, age 81, of New Port Richey, FL, passed away January 28, 2018. Peggy was born March 2, 1936 to David A. Dee, Sr. and Veleda (Patnode) Dee in Schodack, NY. She spent most of her working years as a bookkeeper for a bank in Albany, NY. Peggy moved to the New Port Richey, FL area in 2000 after retiring.

Peggy did not have children of her own, but she was very close with her family and loved being an aunt to her nieces and nephews. She hosted family dinners that all her loved ones were happy to attend as she was a fantastic cook. She was also very talented with crafts, especially crocheting. She would sell her creations at craft fairs held in the Sunshine Lakes mobile home park where she lived. Peggy was a people person. She was so friendly – everyone she met was a friend. In her free time, she loved to visit the beach and go sightseeing, always making new acquaintances along the way.

Aside from her parents, Peggy is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbert A. Russell and brothers, Thomas Francis Dee and Warren Gregg Dee. She is survived by her brother, David Dee, Jr. (Charmaine); her sister, Mary Raymond; her sister-in-law, Linda Dee; seven nieces and nephews; and many more loving family members and dear friends.

Visitation for Peggy will be held at Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home on Monday, February 5, 2018 from 10am to 11am, with funeral service to follow at 11am.  A lunch reception will be held after the service so that friends and family can continue to share in Peggy’s memory.

Peggy was a woman that you couldn’t help but love.  She was kind and wonderful.  All who knew her will miss her greatly.

Peggy, So many years ago you were the one that taught me how to knit and crochet, how to balance my bank book. You were the Aunt that always attended every one of my boys' baseball games and graduations. Your cheesecakes were the best. Thanks for sharing that recipe! I don't know how all the years got away from us. But now I will miss you and hope that you are at peace and enjoying the company of our other family members who left before you.You deserve it my dear sister in law. Love You! Charm
