A man greatly respected and loved died February 2 ,2019. Robert Henry Wells was a man of strong will, great creativity, good advice, and an active mind. He held very little back in life, sparing only his children the worries of his health in his last few years. He single-handedly raised his two sons , Thomas and Sean, all while working hard to keep a roof over their heads, while simultaneously working tirelessly to ensure their happiness and well-being. He tried to keep his family close, and his friends just as close. He sent Stephanie to live with her mother when she was on the doorstep of adolescence, a decision he lamented for the rest of his life. When he finally was able, he personally paid to bring her home so she could be with family again after many trials and tribulations. His quick and sharp wit kept everyone on their toes, while his seemingly inexhaustible library of comedy movie one-liners kept everyone in stitches. He shouldered the burden of the death of both of his parents only a few years apart, all while trying to hide his slowly deteriorating health from his friends and family. He only grudgingly asked for help, and never accepted charity. He gave willingly to friends and family, never pressing for repayment, even when times got tough. He was a proud Army veteran, always using his experiences from his service to teach both his children and those around him. In the end, the reaper comes for us all, and he faced that great beyond with courage and fortitude, even as his body betrayed him. He had so many dreams he left behind to his family, so many desires left unobtained. It falls to his children to honor his memory by taking his lessons and love to heart, to prove to his memory that they can be as great as he believed them all to be. Their lives will never be the same without him, and his children are forever changed by his passing. Though he is now gone, he will live on forever in the hearts and minds of those who knew him, finally setting down his burdens to take the rest he so richly deserved.
In lieu of flowers, please take a moment to donate to this memorial fund in memory of Robb’s generous spirit. No amount is too small. Anything you can give will be forever appreciated by his family who are reeling in the wake of this truly devastating loss.
