Roberts, Robert O. “Bob”, 88, of New Port Richey, passed away peacefully June 26, 2017. Robert was born December 8, 1928 in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Roger and Martha Roberts. Robert courageously went to serve in the United States Navy at the age of 17 and then transferred to serve in the United States Army. He worked as a supervisor for General Motors for 37 years before retiring. Robert and his wife moved to Florida in 2003. In his spare time, he loved to play golf until his health prevented it. He was a proud member of the Melrose Masonic Lodge in Norwood, Ohio from 1967 to present day. Robert is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Marian Roberts; daughters, Sherra (Kevin) Caruso and Linda (Steve) Pohlman; and grandchildren, Amber, Jamieson, Sean, Sarah, Cullen and Corey.
A gathering of family and friends is to take place at the Michels and Lundquist funeral home Saturday, July 15, 2017 at 11 am; a memorial service is to follow at noon. Robert will be interred with his fellow comrades at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida. In lieu of flowers, the family please asks for donations to be made in Robert’s name to the Shriners Hospitals for Children at this link or checks can be sent to 2900 N.
