Ruth Crabtree

Ruth S. Crabtree, age 98, of New Port Richey, passed away January 8, 2018.  She was born on May 3, 1919 in Datton, AR to Ernst Smith and Ella D. Skagg.  Ruth spent her life devoted to creating a warm and loving home for her family.  She came to the area in 1977 from Highland, MI on the very day after her beloved husband Allen retired.

Ruth was a true woman of God.  She attended the Suncoast Baptist Church in New Port Richey for over 40 years.  Not only did she attend, she also helped in any way she could, whether it was teaching Sunday school, singing in the choir, or organizing pot luck dinners.  Ruth truly talked the talk and walked the walk.  She never had a negative word to say about anyone and was always kind to everyone she met.  She will be remembered as the perfect mother and grandmother.

Ruth was preceded in death by her dear husband, Allen O. Crabtree.  She is survived by her loving children: Judy Wonsey, Barry Crabtree, and Travis Crabtree; five grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; and three great-great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Friday, January 12, 2018, from 1-2pm at Michels and Lundquist Funeral Home with a funeral ceremony to follow delivered by Pastor Bryan Goebert of Suncoast Baptist Church.  Ruth will then be laid to rest at Meadowlawn Memorial Gardens.
