Ruth Miriam Baer was born August 4, 1944 in Bridgeton, New Jersey and graduated from Bridgeton High School in 1961. She passed away from this life on December 8, 2021 after battling several illnesses. Ruth had touched the lives of many people and was known to always bring joy and humor to any situation that needed it. She had many hobbies and interests. An avid reader, she loved tales of fantasy and magic and was a fan of Isaac Asimov, Suzette Haden Elgin, Janet Evanovich, among others. She was in her element at science fiction conventions, medieval fairs, and many other social gatherings. Ruth found a lot of happiness in singing, and her interests in music included gospel and Irish folk music. She enjoyed travel, and those close to her likely remember going on or being part of her many adventures. She enjoyed swimming and being near the ocean. She was preceded in death by several family members including her son Jerry Baer. She is survived by brothers David and Joe, son Michael Baer, grandson, Andrew Baer, other relatives, and many friends. Ruth had told family that when she passed that she wanted to be remembered with joyful memories and lots of good food. In lieu of flowers, please donate to a charitable cause of your choice.
