Mr. Salvatore “Sam” Fazio, age 97,  passed away Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2023. He was born Sept. 10, 1926, in Brooklyn, New York to Francesco and Soprana Fazio.
Salvatore is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 52 years Rosalie, whom he married following World War II on Sept 24, 1949. Also preceding him in death are his brothers Frank, Joseph, James and Anthony Fazio and sisters Martha and Anna Morreale.
Salvatore lived a full life in New York and Florida, serving both his country and his community. He served in World War II with the 24th infantry division before working several jobs, including with the City of New York for 23 years until his retirement in 1978 and at a bank for another 11 years.
Salvatore was also an active member of his local VFW, American Legion and Knights of Columbus organizations throughout his life.
He leaves behind his sons Frank (Debbie) Fazio and Carl (Gail) Fazio and daughter Sophia (Phil, dec.) Monchik.  Salvatore had five grandchildren, Peter (Stephanie) and Jason Monchik, Bryan (Amelia) and John (Hennessie) Fazio and Samantha Fazio and six great-grandchildren.

Funeral Service

The funeral will take place on November 16, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Florida National Cemetery (6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513)
