Colonel Theodore Arthur Margwarth, 82, of Holiday, passed away March 30, 2018. Ted was born in Shelbyville, IL on January 31, 1936. As an infant he was adopted by Theodore Monroe Margwarth and Gertrude Hoffman of Effington, IL. Ted graduated from St. Anthony’s high school in 1954. He joined the Army and earned his GI Bill. He attended nursing school in St. Louis, MO, where he became an RN. Ted reenlisted and was soon deployed to Vietnam. He would serve over 30 years between reserves and active duty, exiting the Army as a full colonel. In the 1990s, he went on to earn an Associates degree in computer science from Webster College. Ted was an outgoing and fun-loving man that will be sorely missed by those who knew him.
Ted is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Susan, five children, two step-children, two sisters, and many grand and great-grandchildren.
A graveside service with military honors will be held for Ted at FL National Cemetery, Bushnell, on April 5, 2018 at 2pm.
