Vito J. LaGrande Jr.

Vito J. LaGrande, Jr, 82, of New Port Richey, passed away February 16, 2017.  He was born August 22, 1934, in Welfare Island, NY to Vito J. LaGrande, Sr, and Nettie Paola.  He served in the US Army for 2 years after marrying his wife, Carol.  He came to Florida in 1974 from Westfield, NJ.  Vito was the owner of LaGrande Mowers here in New Port Richey for many years.  Cutting grass was a passion of his; selling and repairing lawn equipment was the perfect career.

Vito loved to stay active.  He enjoyed walking the dog and bird watching.  He was very artistic, painting and drawing often.  He liked fixing and inventing things.  In his younger years, he was excellent at roller skating and loved to bowl.   He was a generous, unique person.  If you needed him, he was there.

Vito is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 60 years, Carol; his daughters, Linda LaGrande and Leona Beadle (Thomas); his sister, Agnes Clark; four grandchildren; and one great grandchild.

Visitation will be held at Michels & Lundquist Funeral Home on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 from 4-7pm, with vigil service at 6:30pm.  A funeral mass will be held at Our Lady Queen of Peace Wednesday at 10am with burial to follow.
